I hired him to represent my brother, who was being held in the Essex County jail because ICE was going to deport him because of an aggravated felony. He meet with us immediately and took the time to explain the law. My brother had been convicted of a drug offense and his prior attorney never told him... that he was going to be deported! Scot told us to have faith that he would get my brother out of jail by filing a motion for post conviction relief. He represented my brother in the Immigration Court in Newark and the State Criminal Court in Paterson, NJ. He won the PCR and he got the immigration case dismissed. He was extremely knowledgeable about criminal and immigration law and he has fought many PCR cases for years. I know of several people who were locked up by immigration to be deported and Scot fought each of these cases. He overturned their criminal cases and was successful in getting the immigration charges dismissed. They all kept their green cards and are living in New Jersey with their kids and families.
