Mr. Hajdarpasic has been practicing complex litigation since 2011 in the private and public sector. During this time, he has represented business clients in complex commercial litigation matters, and various federal agencies as an Assistant U.S. Attorney (“AUSA”) for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey. Utilizing this combined private sector and public service experience, Mr. Hajdarpasic heads the law firm’s litigation department, with a concentration on commercial and immigration litigation.
Mr. Hajdarpasic began his legal career as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Lourdes I. Santiago in the New Jersey Superior Court, Hudson County. Following his clerkship, Mr. Hajdarpasic worked in the private sector and represented plaintiffs and defendants in various civil litigation matters. In particular, Mr. Hajdarpasic represented business clients in construction litigation, employment litigation, claims between lenders, commercial landlord/tenant disputes and personal injury claims. He represented clients at each stage of litigation process, from attempting to resolve matters in the pre-litigation stage through discovery, motion practice, and final adjudication and appeals.
Prior to joining Onal Gallant Bayram & Amin PC, Mr. Hajdarpasic served as the first fully dedicated civil immigration AUSA for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey, and represented agencies such as U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (“USCIS”), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (“ICE”) and the Department of State in federal lawsuits. Mr. Hajdarpasic successfully litigated numerous complex cases, including multiple class actions, emergency requests for preliminary injunctions, mandamus complaints, challenges to agency immigration decisions, and petitions for writ of habeas corpus. Additionally, Mr. Hajdarpasic served as an Assistant Chief Counsel (“ACC”) at the Department of Homeland Security, where he litigated hundreds of removal proceeding hearings in immigration court, including asylum claims, bond hearings, and various other petitions and requests for immigration relief.
Mr. Hajdarpasic earned his Juris Doctorate degree from the Rutgers School of Law—Newark, where he served as the Research Editor of the Rutgers Law Review and Treasurer of the Moot Court. Mr. Hajdarpasic received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida.
