Atty. Soto was also an intern at the Essex County Public Defender, Adult Division. She appeared on record in Drug Court, Municipal and Superior Courts of Essex County in which she argued bail motions, violations of probation, sentencing, and dismissal of cases. On her own initiative, she wrote a training manual that is currently in use for interns as well as new attorneys.

In her private affairs not as an attorney, Atty. Soto is also a professor and co-founder of two 501(c)(3) not-for profit organizations.

Billie Holiday New York City Landmark Society is a not-for-profit organization co-founded by Atty. Soto along with a few others because, shockingly, New York City has no designation plaques honoring Ms. Holiday’s place of residence, where she worked or collaborated. Currently, the organization is fundraising and conducting research.

Atty. Soto is founder of the Sustainable Environment through Self-Reliance. Its primary mission is to advance the education of environmental quality, protection, and beautification of the world by making better informed decisions in our food choices and living and consumer habits. Moreover, the organization promotes that by taking personal responsibility as consumers, we, collectively, will leave a better environment for generations to come.

In her leisure, Atty. Soto is writing a book that breaks down sex laws in the United States. She enjoys running, reading, yoga, biking, gardening and horticulture, traveling, jazz and classical music, sewing, watching obscure films and documentaries, cooking, and German Shepherd K-9 training.
