Kathleen Giles Williams

Kathleen Williams is a litigation attorney based in the firm’s Newark office. She regularly handles matters involving toxic torts, products liability, construction accidents and defects, premises liability, and other general liability issues in the state and federal courts of New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. She has extensive experience resolving complex matters, in which liability is strongly contested, through mediation and arbitration.

Kathleen also advises insurers on coverage issues with regard to commercial general liability and property policies. She has represented primary, umbrella and excess liability insurers in state and federal declaratory judgment actions involving underlying claims of personal injury, wrongful death, property damage and construction defect. Additionally, Kathleen has defended first-party and third-party insurers against claims for breach of contract and bad faith in state and federal courts of New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUNDPrior to joining the firm, Kathleen held judicial clerkships in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania with U.S. Magistrate Judges Thomas M. Blewitt, J. Andrew Smyser and former U.S. Magistrate Judge Malachy E. Mannion (currently U.S. District Court Judge).
