Appointed to the Superior Court of New Jersey in 1989. Designated in 1990 by Chief Justice Robert Wilentz as Assignment Judge for Hudson County. Tried high profile cases involving elected officials, government entities, constructon, environmental, corporate, and employment law. As Assignment judge, oversaw judiciary operations in the County, supervising 30 other judges, 570 employees, a $23 million annual budget and the municipal courts of 11 municipalities. Met monthly with the Chief Justice and 14 other Assignment Judges as the management team setting policy for and overseeing operations of all trial courts in New Jersey. Chaired or served on various standing and ad hoc committees dealing with such isssues as restructuring the courts, labor relations, and outside activities of judiciary employees.
Retired from the bench in 2004 after 15 years of service. Since called upon by Chief Justice Poritz and Chief Justice Rabner to handle high profile assignments related to the jiudiciary and the bar.
Appointed by the Superior Court on recommendation of the parties to serve as Special Master to manage and try complex claims arising from the construction of the Southern New Jesey Light Rail System.
Practice currently limited to arbitration and mediation.
