Maria Gesualdi

Maria Gesualdi came to us recommended by a friend. We didn’t even think of reading reviews or researching further and hired her to help us with our first home purchase. The red flags were there from the very beginning, took days to respond to an email, forgetting to copy both my husband and I on impo...rtant communication, failure to keep us up to date on the process. We had to conduct all business virtually because of Covid so the anxiety kicked in immediately when we noticed the lack of basic client service she conducted her business with. Maria recommended we request all defects that came back from inspection to be fixed or consider cancelling the contract for a house we put an offer on, the result of this recommendation was $20K+ dollars frozen in ESCROW for over 6 months as the seller held us in breach of contract. During those 6 months it took sweat and blood to get a hold of Maria. We didn’t hear from her for weeks at a time. Four months later she finally responded with a court claim to recover our funds, we have no proof or guarantee that claim was ever submitted or real as nothing really happened. I personally had to follow the process of the seller closing with someone else, and dig through other contacts to find out the details of their new attorney so I could call him and have him agree to the release of our funds. Where was Maria during all this? I’m still asking myself that question. When I spoke with the attorney’s office and they said they had no issue with the release, I called Maria. She laughed at my face and condescendingly called me honey (many times) as she tried to infer I was out of my mind and what I was saying wasn’t true. Keep in mind the money was in Maria’s power, it had been all that time. When I finally got them to talk to each other and Maria announced she was sending our money back, not only did she send a check for the incorrect amount, she also deducted her fees without consulting with us for a second. Yes, we are aware attorneys charge for their work (if you can consider her performance work at all); but the basic decency of discussing this prior to just taking the money is something you would expect from someone you hired to represent your interests. I’m not sure to this minute how Maria is in business. Please READ REVIEWS, even when people come recommended. During the 6 months our money was frozen, we lost several opportunities to become home owners and saw interest rates rise before our eyes with nothing to be done. To this day we still rent and are a few thousand dollars short because of the unfortunate decision of hiring Maria Gesualdi.

STAY AWAY from this “attorney.” I have been a real estate investor for 16 years and I have never experienced an attorney who commits so many ethical violations, is non versed in the law, and does not return calls or emails. I hired Mrs. Gesualdi to close on a home I was selling and she was incapable... of delivering timely information for so long the deal fell through. There is no communication on her part and she does not know the law. If you have a pending real estate closing and you hire this attorney, it will not close. In addition, she caused both parties a tremendous amount of stress and legal problems. My strong advice is to stay far away from this attorney

Maria's excellent Staff supported and helped push the Home transaction thru quickly and professionally. I would recommen...d and definitely use their Legal service again. Lance

Terrible Lawyer! Terrible track record, terrible work ethics! I hired her in July 2010 for a Mortgage Remodification (I went to her office for something else and she started asking questions and convinced me, salesman-style, to do the remod and asked for half the fee ($1,750) in advance). Her job was... to lower my Mortgage interest rate to as low as 2% and, full of confidence, she advertised that it would take between 6-12 months to accomplish. And while she didn't promise any "specific" results in writing, she gave me ABSOLUTELY NO RESULTS! And every time I went to her office or called, her staff gave me the same answer, "She's not in the office, but Yes, she is working on that, however we have no updates yet." After a full year of no results, my mortgage loan was re-sold and Maria claimed the process had to be re-started, and I had to re-submit my financial information to her all over again. Again, a full year went by with no results and my loan was resold a 2nd time. I increased my phone calls and visits and even called my current loan services only to find out Maria Gesualdi did not even submit any Mortgage Loan Remodification application at all!! After three years of follow ups, both in person and phone calls, and finally facing Foreclosure, on July 5th 2013 I mailed her a letter to terminate her services and demand a full refund. I wasted my time for three years with her. And of course she has not even answered my letter. AVOID THIS LAWYER. I'm not the only unsatisfied customer. Her staff is constantly taking the heat for her poor service (or lack of it).
