Agnes S Wladyka

I hired Ms. Wladyka several years ago to handle my disability appeal. This is not a big firm, it’s Agnes and the legal secretary Gloria. I guess I was hoping to get my hand held which it was not but I ALWAYS felt calmed when we did speak. I went into my hearing feeling kind of defeated and the judge ...said she wasn’t going to hear my testimony. I felt like I was kicked in the stomach. Agnes just held my hand and began talking with the lawyer and vocational expert. No testimony was needed because the appeal paperwork written by Agnes was so extensive (over 30 pages) the judge made her favorable decision before we were seen in person. I was granted a bench decision on the spot with retroactive pay and Medicare insurance going back to before my initial onset date. I can finally rest easy and take a deep breath for the first time in years. Almost 8 long years. I was validated and awarded and I owe it all to Agnes. Let me start out by saying that I know what makes a good lawyer since I am a lawyer. In 2010, My wife had a social security/disability case which was denied at the agency level, reconsideration level and finally on the appeals level. Her prior attorney all but abandoned her unless she wanted to file ...a new application for benefits. When I met Agnes, she said that we could file an appeal in Federal Court and also file a new application in case the appeal was denied. This was in 2016. The Federal appeal was granted and the case sent back to the same Judge who originally denied the case and this time he approved it. Although he didn't grant benefits from 2010, he did from 2013 (which is much better than 2016!). Some lawyers have more compassion than skills, others have more skills than compassion. Agnes has both which is the best combination anyone can hope for in a lawyer.

Our own disability attorney recommended Agnes when my son’s disability claim got denied, as she is a specialist in appeals. It has been 2 years since she refiled the claim, got denied again ( which she advised us in advance would happen), then we got a meeting in front of an actual judge ( about an ...18 month waiting period) , where my son’s claim was finally approved. Agnes had walked us through this scenario from the beginning, so we knew exactly how long it would take. She is smart, hilariously funny, kind and compassionate, experienced and thorough. She hugged me as I cried in relief when my son’s claim was approved by the judge. The system is frustrating, heart breaking, overwhelming. As a normal person there was no way for me to navigate it. That’s why there is Agnes, With years of expertise, knowledge, and sophistication and able to function within the system with great outcome. We are deeply grateful to Agnes.
