I hired this attorney through my company's pre-paid legal plan to represent me in my divorce.She said 90% of her cases were family law. APparently, she did not file papers as required by the court, yet always claimed she had. Not once did she show up prepared for our meetings. She always seemed woefu...lly unfamiliar with divorce law. It was not only embarrassing, but scary how incompetent she appeared. I was told she was eventually fired by the law firm, but not before the damage to my case was irreversibly done. I then had to hire another attorney, but first spent another $4,000 for my case and files to be straightened out. The discount to hire this attorney was not worth the trouble she caused. In hindsight, I would have gladly paid triple (and eventually did) for a competent attorney who charged only for what service he performed. The highly competent attorney works more efficiently, subsequently costing less time and money in the end.
