Attorney Christopher S. Avcollie concentrates his practice in the areas of employment, commercial, corporate and personal injury litigation. Attorney Avcollie’s primary focus is employment law and litigation. He has represented numerous individual clients and small business people to draft and to negotiate severance agreements, non-competition agreements, licensing agreements, and other employment and business contracts. Attorney Avcollie has also developed expertise in employment litigation matters including breach of employment contract, wrongful termination, employment discrimination, FMLA violations, and First Amendment retaliation claims.

Attorney Avcollie has represented numerous small businesses and corporations in a diverse range of industries including internet marketing firms, real estate companies, restaurants, retail stores, financial management firms, churches, construction contractors, and internet start-ups. Attorney Avcollie has represented small business owners and corporations in the purchase and sale of businesses, acquisition of commercial assets, corporate formation, contract drafting and business litigation. Attorney Avcollie focuses on understanding his clients’ needs and delivering cost-effective results.

Attorney Avcollie understands the goals and needs of the small business owner through personal experience. Prior to joining Maurer & Associates, P.C., Attorney Avcollie founded Lincoln Legal Support, LLC, Connecticut’s first full-service legal support firm. Lincoln Legal Support, LLC specialized in providing cost-effective legal research and writing services to law firms, corporations, and municipalities. Attorney Avcollie developed an award–winning business plan for Lincoln Legal Support, LLC, which won him the Hinkle Prize for Entrepreneurship while he was in law school and helped him to win start-up financing.

Prior to joining Maurer & Associates, P.C., Attorney Avcollie represented clients in civil litigation, corporate, personal injury and real estate matters as the founder and Principal Attorney for The Avcollie Law Firm, LLC. Attorney Avcollie provided Appellate representation to numerous individuals on behalf of the State of Connecticut and argued several appeals before the Connecticut Appellate Court.

Attorney Avcollie earned his undergraduate degree in English and Philosophy from the University of Connecticut in 2002 where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He is also a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Law where he earned his Juris Doctorate in 2008. Attorney Avcollie is a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where he served as a Military Police Officer and was a Security Specialist assigned to the Pentagon.
