Sharon Oberst Defala

I have been in practice as an attorney since 1992. My clients include families, couples, and individuals. I have had the privilege of helping hundreds of clients navigate all phases of life-cycle events.

My passion is family law, where I help my clients maintain the relationships and assets that matter to them while re-structuring the areas that need to evolve or be removed. High net worth families trust me to keep their family matters discreet and cost-effective. Using knowledgable professionals to save money and time for key parts of the process, such as LMFTs (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist) and CDFPs (Certified Divorce Financial Planner), as necessary.

Families of more modest means avoid the pitfalls of litigation by working with me as a mediator or advisor.

I am a volunteer on the Executive Committee for the Federation for Jewish Philanthropy of Upper Fairfield County and on the Executive Committee of the Southern New England Consortium of Federations. I am a past president of Congregation Beth El in Norwalk, CT and a former board member for Schoke Jewish Family Services.

My free time is devoted to family, especially watching my husband and children perform regionally in music and theater, and spending time with my parents and extended family.
