Reprimand issued in CT, 2012
updated on 08/17/2012A reprimand is an order from the Statewide Grievance Committee after it has found that an attorney has engaged in ethical misconduct. If an attorney receives more than 3 reprimands in 5 years, a presentment must be filed against the attorney so the Superior Court can decide if more serious discipline should be ordered.
“This was due to an associate attorney at the law firm not going to a hearing where a case was being dismissed and attendance would not have changed the outcome. This was a 2005 matter, involving a former client who was a frequent bankruptcy filer. This former client had gone through several attorneys who could not get his case confirmed before and after this filing.”
Conditions issued in CT, 2009
updated on 08/16/2012A condition is a disciplinary order from the Statewide Grievance Committee that an attorney fulfill a condition within a certain time frame. If the attorney does not fulfill a condition in a timely manner, the Superior Court may also impose any condition necessary to protect the public.
“This occurred in 2006. The agreement was for time management and the matter was the result of failure to supervise an associate attorney at the law firm.”
