James Patrick Blanchfield

With over 21 years of legal experience in Connecticut,  Jim has a longstanding reputation of legal competence and success in the areas of commercial and residential real estate matters,  closings, land use development and leasing, real estate litigation, estate planning, and transactional work.   Jim represents builders, banks, lenders, borrowers and condominium associations in purchase/sale, title, zoning and foreclosure matters. Also represents municipalities in varied legal work, including employment issues, fire protection issues, and general counsel. 

Jim is an approved attorney for almost all lenders doing business in the area, as well as approved by local probate courts for assignments from those courts.    Jim is a member of the Greater Bridgeport Bar Association and Connecticut Bar Association, serving on each's real estate committees. 

In law school, Jim received the 1996 AmJur award for Jurisprudence as well as the Excellence in Oral Advocacy and Distinguished Academic Achievement awards.  

Jim is also a Captain with the Wilton Fire Department, an IAFF affiliated career department in Connecticut where as part of a team, leads companies responding to varied emergencies, including fire, rescue and hazardous materials incidents.  Jim has served on Local 2233's Executive Board and on all Contract and Pension Negotiating Committees, directly involved in all negotiations, mediations and arbitrations. 

Jim is also active in his community, having served previously on the Trumbull Little League Board of Directors, and with other town organizations and committees, such as the Trumbull Volunteer Firefighter’s Service Award Committee, the Town Central Emergency Dispatch Committee and as an officer with the Trumbull Volunteer Fire Company #1, Inc.

Jim  has received recognition for his pro bono work for those in need, and in his spare time, you can find him hiking local areas of interest.
