Tara was an amazing attorney. Her ability to understand what is important to me as well as clearly explaining the various routes to pursue was incredible. Tara is a very busy well regarded attorney and after hiring her I understand why.
Tara helped me with a somewhat complicated case involving a child support adjustment post divorce. She was honest, fair, and did a great job in setting realistic expectations. My results were positive and I believe its all due to her experience and familiarity with the CT family court system and legal precedent. I highly recommend working with her.
Tara concentrates her practice in divorce and family matters, including cases involving both significant as well as minimal assets, complex compensation structures, post judgment modifications and enforcements, alimony terminations, parenting and custody issues. In addition, she dedicates much of her practice to divorce and family law appeals in both the Connecticut Appellate and Supreme Courts.
Tara is a member of the Fairfield County Bar Association, American Bar Association and the Connecticut Bar Association. She is admitted to practice in Connecticut and New Jersey. Tara has served as a co-chair of the Fairfield County Bar Association’s "Women and the Law" and "Appellate Law" executive committees. She previously served on the executive committee of the Connecticut Bar Association/Young Lawyers Section as a co-chair of the Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice Committee. She is currently a volunteer in the Stamford Superior Court to provide legal assistance to self-represented family law litigants through the Volunteer Attorney Program. She has also volunteered as the statewide coordinator of the Lawyers in the Classroom program in Connecticut and the coordinator of the high school mock trial program for New Haven County through CT Civics First.

Excellent service
I'm very pleased to have Tara Dugo help me getting through the legality and specifics of a divorce. Tara is professional, knows what she is doing; but is also humble. She patiently took into account the way I had like to proceed. Jennifer Macaraeg of Dugo Law too is courteous & prompt. Happy with the Dugo Law.

Perfectly Professional &
I picked Tara for my case after we had a great introductory phone call; she struck an excellent balance of professionalism and kindness.
If all lawyers were like Tara, well, there would be fewer "lawyer jokes." Thank you.

Hire her!
I recently went through the process of trying to find a lawyer for a post judgement emergency custody matter. I spoke to many attorneys and knew right away I had found my attorney after speaking with Tara. She was SUPER knowledgeable and a go getter. She prepared all the necessary motions. I was awarded ex parte emergency custody. She prepared for our hearing which was basically two weeks after the motions were filed and knocked it out of the park at the actual hearing. Then handled all of the settlement discussion after the hearing as well. She got more accomplished in terms of my custody then I thought would even be possible. She worked with me on rates. All in all, a very positive experience. I would highly recommend Tara to anyone in need of an attorney for a family matter. I went from having zero custody of my two boys to full physical custody. A major leap.

Sole Legal Custody
I have to say, I've been in and out of court for the past nine years over major custody and visitation issues regarding our minor child. Some unforeseen recent events occurred and I needed yet again another lawyer.
Tara Dugo, looked over nine years of documented history and said you should be going for Sole custody at this point. After a two day trial, I was finally granted Sole Legal Custody. As a father, that's without a doubt, by far the best Christmas gift I could ever get.

Intelligent, efficient, compassionate and professional
Tara is an absolute pleasure to work with! She is efficient and kept the cost of my divorce affordable while creating an agreement that was reasonable and fair. She has compassion for the emotions that come along with the process and always returned my calls and emails promptly with thorough and well thought out responses. After interviewing almost a dozen lawyers in Fairfield County, I recommend Ms. Dugo without any reservations.
