Gary

I would just like to thank Kelly and her staff, in a divorce that had the potential to get very nasty Kelly brilliantly ended my divorce checking almost every box for what I asked her for in our consultation. Kelly’s confidence in her abilities to understand the law and what your realistic expectatio...ns should be were absolutely on point. If you hire her you just need to listen to her and take her advice, she knows what she’s doing. The recommendation for Kelly actually came from a family friend who’s an extremely well known divorce attorney. Her exact words were “if you want the best you should hire Kelly, I dread anytime I have to go up against her in court.” Simply put hands down Kelly saved me in this divorce when my first attorney failed and my ex wife’s attorney steam rolled me before hiring Kelly. Honestly I can not say enough good things about this brilliant attorney and the overwhelming amount of calm her knowledge of the law and divorce will bring you in one of the most anxiety ridden times of your life. Another point I found to really like about Therrien laws office is the way Kelly hires her staff, any time I called and Kelly wasn’t available her knowledgeable paralegals never had a problem answering my questions and making sure they handled every concern I had. And this for me made Kelly’s business, I had to come last minute to fill out a ton of documents and had my German shepherd puppy with me. Not only did Kelly explain in detail every document and make corrections but literally played with my 90lb German shepherd pup and keep her busy while I was going over all the documents. This attorney goes above and beyond on the rest.

100% recommend

I sought Attorney Therrien’s representation in modifying an existing custody agreement held with a very high conflict co-parent. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we were given less than 24 hours notice before our court date. In that small amount of time Attorney Therrien reviewed and sorted through n...early a year’s worth of evidence to learn my case, had appropriate witnesses subpoena’d, and made sure the proposed modification was exactly what I wanted/reasonable. Communication with her and her paralegal was quick, easy and always responded to in a timely manner. During our hearing Attorney Therrien made me feel at ease, and provided counter arguments that made the other side literally stutter at times. She checked on me during our break and after to make sure I was holding up okay. In an extremely high stress situation she made me feel as at ease as possible while also being aggressive, clear and firm with our arguments. During the two days following our hearing as we waited to hear a decision I prepared myself for the worst (as is my nature in stressful situations - prepare for the worst but hope for the best!). Even with the mindset that the judge may not agree with what I was requesting, I still felt pleased with Attorney Therrien’s representation and am certain few others could have done such a thorough job, especially given such little notice. Nevertheless, the judge agreed with mine/Attorney Therrien’s requests and I feel like I can rest easier for the first time in over a year. Attorney Therrien does not beat around the bush. She is straightforward, blunt, honest, tough, and largely outspoken. I won’t lie, to an extreme introvert like myself she can be a bit intimidating! However she will represent and fight what you need with a rarely seen dedication and tenaciousness, and seems to truly care about her clients and their wellbeing.

Crook

Atty Therrien is a crook. She didn’t properly explain her billing services. Billed me hundreds of dollars. Made my case a nastier than it needed to be so she can collect more $. Worked past our retainer agreement then billed me thousands that I didn’t agree to her working past the exhausted agreement.... Then she left me high and dry in the middle of the divorce. Now Come to find out she was let go by her firm. Don’t hire unless you want to pay ridiculous $ for her reading emails.

The allegations set forth in this review are false. All of my billing practices are set out in a retainer agreement that each of my clients reads and signs. It explains the procedures clearly and concisely for billing by the hour, which is a reasonable and usual practice for family law attorneys. It is a lawyers ethical responsibility to keep working for a client until either the court allows the lawyer to withdraw from the case or the client replaces the lawyer. Lastly, I stopped working at my last firm to start my own firm. I was not let go.
