Maxine Lee Matta

Received J.D. from Roger Williams Universty School of Law and B.A. from Connecticut College '97. Admitted to practice in CT, MA and the U.S. Federal Court in Connecticut, and Mohegan Gaming Disputes Court. My focus areas are Family Law, Personal Injury, Workers' Compensation, Wills and Probate. Prior to practicing law, spent twelve years as owner/operator of a small business in the corporate field. While in law school, I was a student attorney in the Criminal Law Clinic in Providence, RI. After graduation from Roger Williams my law career took me to Western Mass Legal Servces, Inc. in Pittsfield, MA, representing disadvantaged women with children in contested custody matters and domestic violence, rewriting the Americorp Manual on Domestc Violence, and attending intensive Trial Practice training sponsored by the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education Foundation in Boston, Mass. Returned to CT, working two years as a "TAC" (Temporary Assistant Clerk) in the Superior Court of New London, CT, both civil and criminal divisions. Most recently have been a Workers' Compensation Defense attorney for ten years at Murphy and Beane Law Offices in New London, CT. Completed Asylum and Removal Training at the International Institute of Connecticut.
