About Alyson

Learn Alyson’s areas of practice.

Alyson Aleman has always been an advocate for others who needed a voice. In her first career as a social worker, she was dedicated to helping people from a position of compassion and respect. But, she saw a career in law as a better way of serving others. She is committed to understanding the other person’s point of view, particularly in stressful situations.

Ever since law school, when her concentration was in trusts and taxes, Alyson’s law experience has involved creating trusts of all kinds, including revocable and irrevocable trusts, and estate tax. At a previous law firm in New York, she was an Associate in the Trust and Estates Department.

Alyson Aleman has been practicing law for 18 years, helping her clients protect their hard-earned assets with estate plans, trusts, trust administration, wills, probate, elder law and Medicaid planning. Through her practice of Life Care Planning, she works to help seniors achieve a better quality of life and live longer.

She also practices in real estate law. She drafts condominium declarations, leases, merger agreements, and home improvement contracts, among other such documents.

Alyson is active in the community. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Marianapolis Preparatory School, in Thompson, Connecticut. Also, she was Member of the Board of Finance for the Town of Pomfret.

Alyson earned a Juris Doctorate degree in 2001 from Fordham University. She received her Master’s degree in Social Work from Columbia University in 1998, and her Bachelor’s degree from Boston College.

She is admitted to practice in Connecticut and New York. She is a member of the Connecticut, New York, and Windham County Bar Associations. She is also a member of the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) and the Elder and Estate, Probate, and Real Property Sections of the Connecticut Bar.

Worst Experience.
I’m not sure if it’s Attorney Aleman or her incompetent Paralegal Kathryn Ruff-Hill but the communication with this lawyer was completely impossible. They’re unprofessional, unhelpful, and only looking to earn themselves more money and take advantage of people seeking their help.
