Attorney Peter N Upton has been in the active practice of law for close to 50 years having graduated from the Boston University School of Law in 1973 at which he was honored with selection to the prestigious Boston University Law Review. Prior to law school Attorney Upton attended Princeton University where he graduated in 1966 with a major in philosophy. Thereafter, Attorney Upton entered the United States Navy where he served with distinction as an officer with the elite Navy underwater demolition SEAL teams.
Attorney Upton saw active-duty combat operations in Vietnam where he received numerous decorations and awards. Importantly Attorney Upton also received injuries and disabilities that were service connected. These Rendered him eligible for membership in Veteran organizations such as the Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Because of his service, Attorney Upton regards himself as with a unique capacity of sensitivity to the injuries and disabilities of others.
Following law school Atty Upton’s service continued – he decided to once again put on his uniform and rejoined the Naval Service as a military lawyer with the Navy in the Judge Advocate Generals Corps, first as a defense lawyer representing uniformed individuals accused of committing crimes against the Uniform Code of a Military Justice and thereafter as a military judge.
Attorney Upton entered the world of the private practice of law in 1975 following his tour of duty in the Navy JAG. His early affiliations were with larger firms in the Hartford area such as Day Berry and Howard and from there, to smaller organizations at which he was able to build his practice to such an extent as enabled him to form his own legal firm.
Attorney Upton takes great pride in making his practice client centered. He represents individuals in all walks of life who have either sustained injury, or are disabled, or have been otherwise deprived of a benefit to which Attorney Upton agrees is richly deserving. Attorney Upton is empowered in his practice with receipt of numerous certificates from both Federal and State authorities. He has been to trial and verdict in numerous cases and participates when necessary or desired in the appeals processes. Attorney Upton is also knowledgeable in alternative dispute resolution vehicles and will not hesitate to seek out case resolutions when and as warranted and desired.
Attorney Upton’s chief areas of present practice include workers compensation, personal injury, social security disability, and military law involving representation of fellow veterans. As he has for the bulk of his life, Attorney Upton is here to serve, and with pride.
