Mr. Faulkner's practice focuses on negligence cases involving nursing home neglect, medical malpractice, car, truck, and bus crashes, and premises liability, in addition to lawsuits arising out of injuries caused by defective products.
He graduated with a Juris Doctor from the University of Connecticut School of Law, clerked for federal magistrate judge Thomas. P. Smith following law school, and has been admitted to bars of Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Hawaii.
He is an active member of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association (CTLA) and the American Association for Justice, and his success in the courtroom and involvement in the legal community has led to the honor of being named Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent* and a Connecticut Super Lawyer.
In the nursing home context, Mr. Faulkner has developed expertise in staffing, nursing home policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines, and problems resulting from neglect such as dehydration, pressure sores, falls, elopement, and prescription errors. His medical malpractice cases have involved missed diagnoses (e.g. heart attack, stroke, cancer), surgical errors (e.g. wrong site surgery, failure to prescribe adequate DVT prophylaxis following joint replacement), birth injuries, and the failure to prevent an emergency room patient's suicide. His product liability cases have involved medical devices such as intravenous catheters and bone implants, and recreational products such as Jet Skis and other personal watercraft.
Mr. Faulkner publishes articles in various legal publications, and he is frequently invited to present to his peers at continuing legal education seminars. His article, "Piercing the Corporate Veil in Connecticut" was published in 2009 by the Connecticut Bar Journal.
