Client Review

I called Mr. Rosenblatt after receiving a recommendation from a good friend. I had an employment issue with my employer and I was afraid of being terminated without good cause. After paying a small retainer of $300.00 he instructed me that until the company took an adverse action there was nothing ...I could do. I was terminated several months later, I contacted Mr Rosenblatt and we talked about my options one of them being taking legal action against the company. He was very busy with other cases and did not get back to me in a timely fashion. He never said he would not take the case but kept stringing me along for months. Finally he told me that he would not be willing to take the case as it was not a strong one and certainly not the type he usually takes. This was months after our initial meeting and months after I was terminated. He recommended two other lawyers that might be good for me and then told me that by CT statute if I ever wanted to take legal action against my former employer that I would have to file an initial complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), This was the very first time that he mentioned this. He then told me that I only had 180 days to do this and then he asked me what was the date I was terminated, after I told him he calculated that I only had a few days left with which to meet this timeline. Once again this is the very first time he ever mentioned this. I then called one of the lawyers he recommended and one of the first things she told me was about this requirement and that based on the date of my discharge I only had few days to meet this deadline, she instructed me to call her when this was done. I would think that an attorney with his years of experience would have advised me of this requirement immediately.
