David Lincoln Woodard

Lincoln Woodard represents plaintiffs in all types of personal injury matters, medical and legal malpractice cases, and private long term disability appeals in both state and federal court. He is a Board Certified Civil Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy since 2007. From 2009 to the present, he has been selected by his peers in the Connecticut Magazine Super Lawyers publication, www.superlawyers.com. The selection process for Super Lawyers can be found at www.superlawyers.com/connecticut/selection_details.html.  He was also listed as one of Hartford’s top plaintiffs’ personal injury lawyers in Hartford Magazine in 2010. He has spoken at seminars for Connecticut attorneys on topics including trial tactics, municipal liability, and medical liens.  In 2012 and 2014, he was co-chair of the “Ugliest Seminar of the Year” sponsored by the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association and the Civil Justice Foundation and spoke on the complex issues surrounding liens in personal injury matters.

Mr. Woodard was admitted to the Connecticut Bar in 1992 and the New York Bar in 1993. He is also admitted to practice in the Federal District Court of Connecticut and the United States Second Circuit Court of Appeals. From 1993 to 1997, Mr. Woodard gained invaluable trial experience as a prosecutor in New York, spending the last two years prosecuting cases in the domestic violence and sex crimes division. He returned to Connecticut with his family in 1997 and has practiced exclusively in civil litigation since that time. In addition to his trial experience, he has also argued cases before the Supreme and Appellate Courts in Connecticut as well as the United States Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. Woodard is an active member of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association.  He currently serves as Secretary for the organization. He is co-chairman of the Public Relations Committee, and a member of the Executive Committee,  Board of Governors, and Continuing Legal Education Committees.  He is also a member of the Hartford County Bar Association, the New London County Bar Association, the Connecticut Bar Association and the American Association of Justice.

Mr. Woodard received his law degree in 1992 from Western New England School of Law where he graduated with honors and served on the editorial board of the school’s Law Review. He received a bachelor’s degree in business and economics in 1987 from Syracuse University.
