Don’t waste time or money, unless that’s all you’re looking to achieve. If you want constant inaccurate information, and your lawyer making decisions behind your back without your consent, Misty is the right lawyer for you! In 1 year time Misty has successfully taken $12k from me and i have nothing t...o show for it. But what really did it for me, was New Britain clerks office making me aware that my own lawyer was consenting to continuances behind my back, adding in the delay of my case for well over 6 months, just to take my money and for no other reason. Despite my repeated frustrations about the continuations, Misty did all she could to make sure she was going to continue depleting my retainer so i can keep restoring the balance, with no end in sight for a very, very simple custody case. For the amount she charges, she is highly unintelligent, I have numerous emails with false information, yet i was still charged… a hefty amount at that. I’m not sure how she can charge so much for things she doesn’t even know. I can’t say Misty did anything really for me. All i have to show for what i spent is a drafted agreement mostly put together by family relations, not even her. She was up against a criminal lawyer with no family law experience, and in my eyes, Misty failed miserably. Less than 24 hours after firing Misty, i was able to resolve half my case ON MY OWN. I’m in the process of reporting her to the BAR association, do to her back room decisions made without my consent. Misty is your typical lawyer. Charges top dollar, but provides little to no results. In addition to them being legally required to release all of my case documents to me, they’re trying everything they can to not hand over my case documents. Again, this shows the integrity of this law firm, and that even they can’t follow their own legal obligations.

I'm not even sure where to start as it is hard to find a single positive aspect of my experience with this firm. I fell for the web sites articles about dealing with narcissists but at no point was any of that supposed knowledge and experience brought to bear. Communication was always a nightmar...e with days often times going by between being able to just get a phone call in which always had to be scheduled in advance and even then would be missed. I would ask to be specifically informed of ongoing proceedings but would always be left completely in the dark thinking that things were happening only to be severely disappointing days later to find out that nothing had been done at all even if all I asked for was an email update. I understand that we are all busy but I don't think a 1 minute email or 2 minute phone call with an update is asking much at all. It also seemed like this lack of communication was a problem within the office as well as personnel never seemed to be informed about what was happening with my case and grave errors were made because of it which would have been detrimental to my case had I not carefully reviewed the work that they had did. Everything was done to maximize my exposure and nothing to minimize it. Several basic divorce procedures which would have easily helped my case and should have been done since day 1 were either ignored not followed up on even as the court date loomed on the horizon. The worst part is all of this was, in the grand scheme of things, a very simple case. I was treated as if I was completely insignificant and did not matter except for when I was asked for more retainer. My case would almost certainly have been settled and over far sooner had I hired anyone else. In the end they did not finalize my divorce which is a good thing because had I stuck with them I would have been screwed.
