David Baram was the Mayor of Bloomfield, CT from 1983 to 1989 and served as Chairman of the Capitol Region Council of Governments from 1987 to 1989.  He ran for State Senate in 1990.  David Baram was President of the Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce from 1996-1998.  David is currently Chairman of the Bloomfield Democratic Town Committee and also serves as Chairman of the Bloomfield Center Fire District.  Attorney Baram is  Chairman of the Board for the Jewish Federation Association of CT. (JFact), Membership Chair and Board Member for the Jewish Community Center, Board Member of the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford and a Board Member of the UCONN Hillel.  He formerly served as President of Federation Homes, Building Committee Chairman of the Solomon Schechter Day School, President of United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism (CT. Valley), Chair of the Jewish Community Relations Council, Director for Camp Jewell YMCA, and Chairman of Bloomfield's Charter Revision Commission. Currently he also serves as a Justice of the Peace, Board Member of the Greenberg Center for Judaic Studies of the University of Hartford and Board Member of the SummerWind Performing Arts Center.

Attorney Baram has provided pro bono legal services for the following: Connecticut Bar Association, Beth Hillel Synagogue, Schechter Day School, United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism, Federation Homes, and the Bloomfield Democratic Party.

Attorney Baram has been appointed a Committee by the Superior Court in Foreclosures, has performed legal work for the Bloomfield Center Fire District, was appointed a Receiver for the law practice of a disciplined attorney, and gained municipal experience during his 7 years as Mayor of Bloomfield, Ct.

David Baram was elected to the 15th Assembly District in the CT. House of Representatives in a special election on March 24, 2009.  He was re-elected in 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2016, and  served on the Judiciary Committee, Banking Committee, and as Chair of the General Law Committee.

On November 7, 2017 David Baram was elected Judge of Probate for the Tobacco Valley Probate District, District 3, serving the towns of Bloomfield, Windsor Locks, East Granby and Suffield.
