Robb Spensley, Esq. is a professional attorney with a broad range of experience. He has worked on high level, high stakes, and precedent setting cases, and yet he still is willing to take on the mundane traffic violations which are so pervasive in our court system. I call Robb The Country Lawyer, be...cause he reminds me of the Country Doctor from days gone by... rooted in the community, dedicated to personal service, and easily accessible when you need him. Robb set-up his small town legal practice because that is where he wanted to be. He could have easily chosen to move down-country to practice law, but he is a native Vermonter and he wanted to stay and work here. My life has been shaped by the same decisions and, perhaps, that is why I think Robb and I made a real connection when I ran up against the Law for the very first time in my life earlier this year. I made some very bad choices that evening resulting in a criminal citation. Choices that, well beyond legal consequences and penalties, would adversely affect my standing in the community, the viability of my personal small business, and my quality of life for the rest of my life. It was essential that the seriousness of the criminal citation against me be reduced in order for my life to ever repair and return to normal. Robb was able to accomplish this by encouraging me to work hard in terms of reparations which included hours of education and counseling before my final hearing. That work, combined with his expert negotiations with the prosecuting State's Attorney have resulted in a lower level conviction which I can live with. This has been a horrible year, full of stress, and fear of the future. The system is not done with me yet, but I truly believe that Attorney Spensley's efforts in my case have led to the best possible solution, and for that I am very thankful. I was arrested, charged with a felony, was taken from my house in cuffs, and spent the weekend in jail. Precipitating my arrest, my spouse filed a false police report, and then simultaneously filed a contested divorce. I did not know where to go. Attorney Spensley was highly recommended by the leg...al community, for both the criminal and divorce actions. Attorney Spensley was dogged in his research for the criminal trial, conducting several depositions with the arresting officers, and the plaintiff. This revealed multiple lies and untruths. He then brilliantly presented the facts in the criminal case. So compelling was Attorney Spensley’s defense, the jury deliberated under an hour. The jury was unanimous in its decision to acquit me of all charges. Based on the false police report, my ex-spouse demanded over half of my assets in the contested divorce. Again, Attorney Spensley brilliantly presented the facts in the case. My ex-spouse left the court with the assets he brought into the marriage. I left with my assets intact. It was a harrowing experience, and I was very blessed to have Attorney Spensley on my side.

Earlier this summer, I received a traffic violation while visiting my family in Pittsford, VT. Believe it or not - I was pulled over for speeding as I was driving around in the car to get my 4 year old and 2 year old to go to sleep at 8pm.
