Sarah E. Catherman is a respected attorney and co-owner of Dominion Law, where her exceptional expertise and dedication shine through in her practice.
Born and raised in Central Maine, Sarah attended Winslow Public Schools until her family relocated to Virginia. In Williamsburg, she completed her high school education and went on to earn her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice. It was during this time that Sarah met her husband and future business partner, Andrew. Together, they pursued their law degrees at Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law and returned to Virginia in 2014 to take the bar exam. Sarah and Andrew spent the following seven years in Virginia.
During her time in the legal field in Virginia, Sarah served as a respected Magistrate. This role allowed her to gain invaluable experience and establish herself as a formidable force in the pursuit of justice. Sarah's responsibilities as a Magistrate encompassed overseeing criminal cases, conducting hearings, and issuing rulings on matters such as bail, search warrants, and other legal decisions. Following her appointment to the judicial branch, Sarah joined a firm where she primarily practiced criminal defense. Her unwavering commitment to her work and exceptional courtroom demeanor garnered her the respect of colleagues, judges, and adversaries within the legal community. In addition to criminal defense, Sarah also provided valuable counsel to clients in the areas of estate planning, real estate law, and matters of guardianship and conservatorship, leveraging her meticulous attention to detail and comprehensive legal knowledge.
In 2021, Sarah and Andrew made the decision to relocate to Central Maine, where Sarah eagerly joined the esteemed Waterville law firm of Marden, Dubord, Bernier & Stevens. During her time at MDBS, Sarah applied her expertise to various areas of law, including real estate, estate planning, corporate law, and criminal defense.
Today, as Co-Owner of Dominion Law, she puts her diverse background to work. She provides thoughtful guidance to clients planning their estates, starting a small business, or assisting with real estate transactions, while also serving as a dedicated advocate for those needing a strong criminal defense.
Sarah’s commitment to central Maine is clear. She is an active member of the Maine Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Waterville Bar Association, and in 2024 and 2025, she was honored with the Access to Justice Tax Credit from the Maine Justice Foundation for her dedicated work in providing legal services to those in need. In 2025, she was recognized as a Katahdin Counsel honoree for the pro bono work she provided to low-income Mainers. In 2024 and 2025, Dominion Law, LLC PA was also recognized as a Finalist in the Morning Sentinel's Reader's Choice Awards.
