David M. Zirschky has worked on cases from murder to traffic tickets and everything in between. He completed his undergraduate degree in philosophy and religion in 2005. From 2005 to 2010, David dabbled in wine making in his home state of Oregon, before taking up a fight against the EPA in Tenessee in 2011, which resulted in the first emissions permit for a human crematory in the United States (it’s a long story).
David entered the University of Maine School of Law in 2013. In his final year of school, David practiced as a student attorney and earned the prestigious C.A.L.I award for his work in general practice. Upon graduating from Maine Law and passing the bar exam, David was admitted to practice in Maine in 2015; and admitted to the Federal bar in 2018.
David has been specially trained in OUI detection skills through a three day, NHTSA-approved course. In 2022, he attended the renowned National Criminal Defense College for two weeks in Rhode Island, where he honed and perfected his trial advocacy skills. David has been twice recognized by the Maine Supreme Court as Katahdin counsel in 2016 and 2017. He has also been a junior member of the prestigious Edward Thaxter Gignoux Inn of Court. David is a member of the Maine Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and for just short of a decade, David has been routinely recognized by the National Academy of Criminal Defense Attorney as one of the Top 10 attorneys under 40 in the state of Maine (as a 42-year-old geezer, David has now aged out of that honor).
After practicing in Portland for a number of years, David moved his practice to Rockland, where 99% of his practice is committed to criminal defense work. For more information about David’s work, visit the PRESS section of this website.
When he’s not in the office, David enjoys traveling, the peace and quiet of fly fishing, camping, being on the water, and generally anything to do with the outdoors.

Excellent OUI Defense Attorney
David was very good at explaining things, communicated all on my behalf and won. If any of my family or friends need legal help I would send them to him.
