Practice areas
  1. Business
    40%
The decision to start a business can be exciting and scary at the same time. There are many decisions to make, including choice of entity. I can advise on the differences between each entity type, and I'll discuss the impact of each choice on your business and on you personally as a business owner. I can then assist with the appropriate filing and maintenance of your entity. Additionally, I can provide guidance on other aspects of starting your business, both legal and non-legal.

  2. Corporate and incorporation
    40%
. I work with small business owners to find a practical way to provide them with general counsel services that can be sustained long-term. These services include annual filings, business transactions (acquisitions, business reorganizations, mergers, purchases and sales of business assets, etc), contract preparation, contract review, compliance with state and government agencies, employee handbook and policy creation or review, general legal questions, registered agent services, and succession pl

  3. Insurance
    15%
Insurance coverage can be complex and confusing. With my years of experience in insurance, I can help you recognize the weaknesses in your business insurance policies and help you craft solutions to insurance coverage problems. From a simple incident to a complex loss, I can provide advice to resolve claims when they first happen, work with insurance claim representatives, and litigate coverage claims.

  4. Mediation
    5%
Relationships are important to any business. Settling disputes through mediation, negotiation,, or arbitration can be less damaging to a relationship than litigation. Additionally, ADR can be confidential, less costly than litigation, can be resolved much more quickly, and has the potential for providing more flexible solutions. I work with parties to provide impartial ADR proceedings, and I can work with your business to prepare you and/or represent you in an ADR proceeding.

Prior to starting E. Paylor Law, I spent a decade in the insurance industry working mostly with businesses and business owners. Through this work I desired to help my clients in more facets, so decided to obtain my law degree and start my own law firm.

In addition to my professional experience, I am active in several non-profit organizations and boards. These various experiences give me many different perspectives that I can apply when dealing with a business’s legal issues.

Out of the office, I spend as much time as I can outside doing anything from kayaking, to hiking, to snowmobiling and ice fishing with my fiancé Jason.

Always helpful
My parents are older and when they needed to get all their affairs in order she made them feel at ease, she explained in detail what they were signing. They left feeling confident that they had covered all their bases and had all their wishes met. She was very professional and pleasant to deal with.

Property Sale Issues
I consulted and hired Attorney Paylor to help settle a dispute I was having with the selling party two years after the completion of the sale. I found out that there was an issue with the land that was not disclosed at the time of the sale. Attorney Paylor did a great job in settling the dispute. She was prompt and efficient at attending to the matter and I would recommend anyone utilize her services.
