Run!

He is the worst lawyer I have ever hired. He represented me in my divorce 10 years ago when I was a young mother divorcing a very wealthy man. He was incompetent, allowing my ex-husband's lawyer to repeatedly signal him when questioning him about his assets. Apparently my ex-husband's focus slipp...ed for a moment and he admitted to hiding $250,000 in a safety deposit box (which he didn't reveal during discovery) and Laskoff never addressed it with the judge. I ended up with $80 a week in child support from a man who was worth over $3 million and didn't work. I consulted several lawyers after the divorce and they were all appalled and shocked at how he handled the case and encouraged me to file an appeal based on his incompetence. Unfortunately, I didn't have the money to pay a retainer to another lawyer to represent me. I'm aghast that he is still practicing and hasn't been disbarred.

Attorney Laskoff represented me in an extremely complex workers compensation case.

I hired Attorney Laskoff for a complex workers compensation case. I had literally been put through the ringer by my company and was left to suffer with absolutely no benefits whatsoever. Attorney Laskoff and his Paralegal Tina went to bat for me immediately after I hired them. I was constantly kep...t up to date on happenings with my case and whenever I had a question or concern my calls were always put directly through to Tina or returned within a short period of time. My case was not 'of the norm' and was very complex . Attorney Laskoff was a breathe of fresh air for me. After more than 2 long years of suffering, he took charge and the outcome far exceeded my expectations. I would HIGHLY recommend this lawyer and his team of professionals. They treat their clients like human beings and not second class citizens. He WILL fight for you.

Relationship: Worked for lawyer

"Mr. Laskoff was my mentor for seven years+. He is an incomparable trial lawyer and force in every way. He is a fighter, but knows when to settle. He works harder than anyone I have ever known for his clients. HIs outcomes speak for themselves. He has been noted as American's Top 100 Lawyers. That says it all. I learned nearly everything I know about how to practice with a "fire in my belly" from Mr. Laskoff and for that I am forever grateful. You cannot go wrong with this man who will have your back - always. I still refer cases to him and him to me. He continues to be my mentior and keeps me humble. He is always learning, always studiing, always getting better, stronger, sharper, for all of his client's benefit and mine. He knows how to run an A+ lawfirm that is ready for anything. He and his wife are dedicated to always improving the services they provide. Mrs. Laskoff is a formibable force in her own right. Cheers my mentor, and I am proud to say, my friend. Emily Smoak"

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
