Steve Atwell

I was dealing with the insurance company myself at the beginning of my injury and it was frustrating..Being a stubborn person and very persistent I dealt with getting tossed from adjuster to adjuster..It seemed I had someone new handling my claim every other week. And things such as approvals for th...ings from PT to simple x-rays took longer and longer as each new adjuster said they had to get informed on my claim.. I decided to hire an attorney when I got staff infection post surgery and had the picline put in my arm and the company was ready to send the IV antibiotics and ,guess what? A new adjuster.... The company could not get the approval to send me the medication.... I did make phone calls until I couldn't get transferred any higher up the chain of command at the insurance company and got the approval. That's the point I decided as much as I generally don't like to deal with lawyers, to hire one. I contacted Kaelin and Grant and made an appointment. They day I had the pleasure of meeting Ben Grant and his paralegal Heather. I was impressed by the way he explained how the workers comp system works and in a way that was understandable to me. Not a bunch of legal terms that I had to go Google.. I also felt from both Ben and Heather that they actually cared and I wasn't just another number..Throughout my case Heather worked hard to get the things recommended by my doctor, Although some of those things weren't always easy, she fought and got them done or would team up with Ben and get it done.. Either Heather or Ben were available when I had questions or would get back to me the same day. I was not always the easiest to deal with as I would get frustrated and angry and unfortunately it would sometimes come out on them. They completely understood and again would explain things to me and calm me down.... I would HIGHLY recommend Kaplin and Grant and Definitely Ben Grant.. He made an unpleasant experience bearable. Also kudos to Heather. She is also awesome..

Highly Recommend

I was receiving worker's compensation for a work related injury. I had to fight with the insurance company to receive my benefits timely and to get medical bills and prescriptions covered. As most people know workers compensation is a fraction of what you were making when you were working. Living ...on this reduced amount was difficult enough but any interruption in my benefits would have been devastating to my family financially. I contacted several attorneys but none would take my case because the insurance company had accepted liability. A friend referred me to Ben. Ben and his paralegal Heather made things significantly less stressful. They were on top of my weekly benefits and in the event I didn't receive them timely they would handle it immediately. I no longer had to fight to just go to the doctor or get a prescription refilled. If I did have a question they would respond the same day. They were also able to get me voc rehab so that I could get assistance finding a job that I could manage with my injury. The insurance company sent me to multiple functional capacity exams and independent medical exams. I am confident that had I not had fantastic representation my benefits would have been stopped. At that point another attorney may have been willing to take on my case however I would have gone without weekly benefits while it was being fought. Going through the workers compensation process is brutally stressful on top of having to deal with your injury. I cannot imagine how much worse things would have been without having Ben and Heather. Finally, after 5 years of dealing with everything Ben was able to get me a fair settlement.

Mr. Grant at Kaplan and Grant fight for the individual

I had a Workman Comp case that lasted about 6 years. Mr. Grant was very supportive, informative and available during that time. He took the time to explain the process at every step and was always willing to explain further when clarification was needed. He and his team quickly resolved concerns rega...rding medical issues and payments. Mr. Grant and his team work for their client as a priority making them feel important and listened to during a difficult time of mental, emotional, and physical setbacks.

Wow he worked wonders

I went to Ben after a long battle with workers comp. First he requested the records to determine if he would take my case. He agreed and comtacted workers fomp. He was able to reinstate my claim, retro active. I continued to receive checks. Througout the process Ben was very clear on what he coul...d do. Ben outlined he fee in a very clear manner. There were no surprises. His staff ,Heather was also helpful. Ben always returned calls and answered questions in a timely manner. We recently settled my case in a favorable manner. Not only is he knowledgeable he is easy to talk to, i have the impression he had the respect of all others involved in my case. My only regret is that iI I did not hire him sooner.
