Jackie helped me through a contentious divorce with empathy and good advice. She was solution-oriented, listened to my needs and priorities, and helped me arrange a settlement that I was satisfied with. Her office was great at communicating and responding to inquiries. I was able to get all notary wo...rk completed at the office, as well, making the paperwork even easier. I also worked with Jackie on estate planning. She was quick and informative, providing helpful guidance for me to consider about the process. The will was witnessed at the Portland office, with other lawyers from the practice. I hired Jacqueline despite concerns I had when I met her regarding her having been fired in a similar case to mine. While at times friendly, any questioning or concern regarding decisions she made was met with derision and ultimatums, telling me to “go find another lawyer.” She would later apologize ...and blame it on having a bad day and a bad outcome for another client. I had to have continuances because of her schedule and she was not sensitive to the impact it would have on my case. She would send me documents riddled with incorrect information that had to be fixed regularly. Her firm lost documents and evidence multiple times and had to be resent the information. She was not savvy, and would not listen to any concerns I had about the opposing counsel for months until the opposing counsel was finally rude to her. When confronted with mistakes she made that may have impacted child support she would reply that it wasn’t consequential, despite having no experience of making ends meet for a young family. She had to be coaxed to use evidence that was damning in my hearing, and still left out pertinent details under the guise that the opposing party would lie anyway when it could be easily shown with documentation. When unfavorable judgment was handed down, I expressed my concerns with her handling and she immediately suggested I get other counsel. This is an attorney who’s ego is far more important than stressing the needs of her clients. I can’t NOT recommend her enough.

Jacqueline is a fantastic lawyer and I would recommend her to anyone dealing with divorce and child custody issues. She was always very honest and up-front with me about everything and I never felt like I was out of the loop. Though she would ultimately do what I asked of her, she would push back whe...n she didn't agree with something I was saying. This was very important to me because family court can be very emotional and I needed someone in my corner who could see the big picture and not get lost in the weeds. Specifically, Jackie handled all the paperwork and went to the status conferences in my place. We would chat beforehand and afterward, but I was able to avoid the stressful experience of hearing the other side. She would receive all the emails from the opposing counsel and deal with them accordingly, only bringing me in the loop when necessary. This was exactly what I wanted in a lawyer and she delivered. Jackie is also very kind and compassionate, which was also very important to me during such a contentious time. I highly recommend Jackie to anyone who values honesty and integrity. She didn't always tell me what I wanted to hear, but she always told me what I needed to hear. I felt like she had my back and she'll be the first person I call if something comes up again.
