Nightmare experience
Horrible, spent a year working on a case for me. Never once was able to get a hold of her via phone. Called her office multiple times and was told she was working from home. That’s awesome, so connect me to my appointed attorney so we can communicate? She’s still working right? I left two messages wh...
Attorney Pierson is an Assistant Solicitor and experienced criminal prosecutor who represents the City of Providence. All courts in Rhode Island were operating remotely for some time during the Covid19 pandemic and Attorney Pierson was working remotely. Attorney Pierson is often in court, and she takes pride in responding to calls and emails in a timely manner. It appears you are disappointed in the restitution amount determined for your case and you hold Attorney Pierson responsible for this. In the criminal court, restitution amounts are based on actual out of pocket expenses incurred by the complaining witness. These are proven by receipts or repair cost estimates. The restitution amount awarded is determined by the Court, not by the prosecutor. The Judge can cap restitution at an amount it determines. Asking Attorney Pierson for $3,500 restitution in your case and calling her office multiple times does not ensure that she can guarantee you that amount, as that is the Court's determination. If the restitution amount you received is not to your satisfaction, you are free to pursue a civil case with an attorney of your choice. Best wishes.
