Sara Jean Pierson

Sara is dedicated to providing exceptional legal representation with a personal touch. She is a former Special Assistant Attorney General and most recently Associate City Solicitor for the City of Providence. With two decades of legal experience working for the State and City, Sara is an expert in criminal law and also has extensive knowledge on DUI/Breathalyzer Refusal, family law, traffic court, domestic issues, and personal injury. Sara's history in criminal law includes thousands of cases with charges ranging from misdemeanors to felonies including: DUI/Breathalyzer refusal, domestic violence, sexual assault and murder.

Sara’s career in public service began in 2004, as a paralegal for the Rhode Island Department of Attorney General Criminal Division. Inspired by the work she was involved in, Sara attended New England Law Boston at night while working full time as a paralegal.

Sara graduated in May 2010 and was a Special Assistant Attorney General from January 2011-2019. She specialized in criminal litigation, motion practice, jury trials, including domestic violence, sexual assault, and violent felony offenses. She has experience in the District, Family, and Superior Courts, as well as at the Rhode Island Traffic Tribunal.

In 2019, Sara joined the Law Department for the city of Providence. She handled prosecution in district court, housing court, civil litigation defending the City in superior Court, contracts, public records requests (FOIA), and was legal counsel to the Providence Ethics Commission and Urban Redevelopment Renewal and Planning Committee. Sara is licensed to practice in Rhode Island and the US District Court for Rhode Island.

Sara is a married mother of three who enjoys spending time watching her favorite athletes play youth sports every weekend.
