Joseph Maggiacomo III

I found Joseph Maggiacomo in the yellow pages. After speaking with him on the phone, he drove to my house which was 40 miles away from his office location. Joseph told me that my case would take him 40 hours to prepare for, due to he would have to file motion after motion and that he would have to ma...ke several court appearances on my behalf. Joseph then told me that he would have to charge me $4,500.00 dollars due to the amount of work he would have to spend on my case. During the actual first court appearance I had where Joseph Maggiacomo III represented me he whispered to the district attorney and they both laughed. Once my name was called the case was dismissed. I had already provided a $1000.00 dollar retainer to Joseph and after I realized he had fraudulently charged me 4,500.00 based on services HE HAD NOT PROVIDED ME I did not pay for the remaining balance because he did not do any work to warant any addional funds. . He is trying to sue me for the remaining $3,500.00 for services and work he did not do.

Is he knowledgable? Yes. His work product and effort? Debatable. I would not recommend Attorney Maggiacomo to any of my friends. He may be a very knoweldgable lawyer, but he is very careless and neglectful in his work product. Mr. Maggiacomo sent out three documents on my behalf a total of thr...ee times. He emailed me copies of the document to show me what he had done so far. The first attempt, he emailed to the incorrect person. When I finallty received the email a week later, I immediately found more than 10 errors, including references to the incorrect persons. His representation was embarassing and sloppy. When I brought the errors to his attention, I asked that moving forward I'd be able to review before he submitted. He told me my "attitude was unprofessional" and I then decided I no longer wanted to work with him and asked to forward my file. When I received the billing for the work he had done, he charged me for absurd items such as travel to and from the courthouse charging me $1,000 just for the drive.
