My ex-husband and I chose to use the Collaborative Method to handle our divorce. It seemed like a kinder, gentler way to go through a very difficult and painful process. I interviewed several attorneys trained in that field. Upon meeting, I knew immediately that Doris Tennant was the kind of professional I wanted to work with and to represent me. She is an intelligent and compassionate person. She is an excellent listener. Doris stayed very directed in our meeting so they were productive (not wasting time or money) but always had the box of tissues handy when things got tough. There were some complicated financial issues in my divorce that had to be dealt with. She did an amazing job of ferreting out the nuances to make sure that I got a fair settlement. I had a strong advocate and ally in Doris Tennant.
She also helped find other professionals; a financial advisor and a couples counselor, that helped in the Collaborative process. It was helpful to have this network.
I recommend Doris Tennent without reservation!

I hired Doris for two situations, the second time because I was thoroughly pleased with her work on the first case. In both cases, she had a quick, solid grasp of my needs, concerns and feelings, without fail. I felt very supported by her emotionally, though she didn’t let our conversations devolve into negative, stuck places. She showed compassion for both of us and yet could also assert and advocate for me to help us reach an agreement. Her pace of involvement was spot-on: she kept us on track and nudged things forward when I could have easily let the discomfort and sadness shut me down. I whole-heartedly recommend her for anyone wanting a top mediation attorney, and I would hire her again!
