Marlene promises you everything then takes your money and doesn't do anything.

Marlene has been great!

I haven’t gotten around to writing this but I’m putting in time now. I asked Marlene for help in what I realized was going to be an unfortunate and tough divorce, involving also the custody of my small children. Since the beginning of this long and arduous process, Marlene has been available, incredi...bly kind, compassionate and provides great feedback. I am finally at the end of this process, and the beginning of a much longer one which is life, and I credit Marlene as one of the people that made it possible for me be able to look ahead with much more hope. I wholeheartedly recommend Marlene for anyone dealing with separation, divorce, custody.

Would not recommend

Marlene Shiner strung me along for just about two years charging me $400 an hour. She did nothing to settle with respect to the finances and custody/visitation. I switched to a better lawyer who in less than nine months had me divorced with a financial agreement and back with my children.

Empathetic, caring, and personal family law help

Marlene is exceptionally helpful dealing with toxic family situations. She helped me get from an awful place, to a great place and as a result of her help I wasn't forced to do my own legal research and become an expert in family law. She took care of it all and I'm ever grateful.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
