Lacks communication skills

We had utilized Mitch to be our attorney on a home we were selling. First and foremost, he needs better communication skills, because he is extremely lacking in this field. We thought we were closing on 10/4, we didn't find out until the realtor we had, emailed him the morning prior about som...e sort of title issue. We found it odd because two families were sold the house before we ever bought it, but he only brought it up once weeks prior that there was an issue with the title, and asked if we could do the work of finding out who our title insurance company was, as evidently even though Mitch gets paid to do a job, this falls on you. He doesn't like to be questioned either, he'll give you an attitude as if he's better than you. When he was questioned about the title issue and why didn't he tell us prior to the day before close, he stated to my us that he told us several times. His several times actually meant he called and emailed once on one day...asking for the title insurance company's name on September 27. His additional excuse was he was dealing with a paralegal at the title company all week that said it was being investigated. Meanwhile, I took it upon myself to call the title company, they said he didn't even put the claim into them until October 2, but we had to close on October 4. He failed to inform us of that either. They told me to ask him to ask if buyers' bank would accept an indemnification letter. They did ...but we had to do all the legwork ...he didn't even have the number we were calling right. We didn't trust him at this juncture, so we pulled the POA for the closing from him, and went ourselves. Was supposed to get the money wired by him end of day, he stated his wire company was so fast, but he was advised to go to the branch to do it. And then that couldn't even be accomplished because he stated the wire team would get to it, they didn't. Even as of the 15th of October...since we then had to close a week later, on the 11th, we still didn't have the money but the house was sold on 10/11...no proceeds until 1pm on 10/15. Had to call twice to have him check on his bank since they were now sitting on it after a holiday and in no hurry. Even had a question on the U&O he drew up which goes until 12/11, no call back after he got his money, which you're doing a lot of the legwork with him if you work with him as we saw with the title company.

Wrong Mortgage was discharged

I wish I could give him 5 stars, but really had to hire 2 different lawyers. just to get this issue fixed. I purchased x property and mortgage for property y was discharged instead of x. title insurance company, kept hiring lawyers, but none could not do anything. finally I hired another lawyer and w...e were able to fix it. Also I think he is overpriced. but thats on me. I should have gotten in writing about the estimate of closing on a condo
