She talked to me with so much compassion and such a deep understanding of human nature and my unique circumstances which I had never verbalized to anyone that I could not help but cry. I could not help but trust her. Exceedingly early in the process, Laurel took the time to explain the entire bankruptcy process in clear detail, answered every one of my questions, and always made me feel comfortable and respected. She worked so hard for me, one would have thought that I was paying her a tremendous sum of money to manage my case. Laurel’s communication was excellent — I could always reach her when I needed guidance, and she kept me fully updated on the progress of my case. What stood out the most was not only her great knowledge and professionalism, but also her compassion and understanding. I never felt judged, only supported. Everything was managed efficiently and smoothly, with no surprises along the way. One of the smartest people I've met in my entire life (not hyperbole). Laurel Bretta is pragmatic, strategic, and has a wealth of both legal and financial and institutional knowledge. Not only that but she knew all the judges and lawyers we faced and how to best appeal to the judges as well as mane...uver the opposing counsels tendencies. The day I walked in her office was one of the hardest of my life, but Laurel guided me out of that hole seeing the path to take with the speed, clarity and efficiency. Laurel new which bankruptcy to best protect me with. She was always well prepared, punctual with filings, and never gave her hand away to opposing counsel.
