Extremely displeased
Michele seemed money oriented and unresponsive. Between the three vacations she took during our case and inability to reply to e-mails in a timely fashion we seem to have little faith in her. I have just discovered this review posted 6 years ago. I do not know which client posted this review or whether it was posted to the correct attorney profile, as I had not previously accessed my profile on Avvo or checked the information for accuracy to ensure that clients could find me if they wanted to add a review. What I can say is that I have represented many clients before the Immigration Court as well as in interviews before USCIS and I always have met and do meet with my clients at least once prior to hearings or interviews and often more than once or as many times as I felt were necessary to ensure the client was prepared. Prior to the scheduling of a hearing or interview there would have been additional meetings to discuss the nature of the case and strategy. Paralegals were involved in case preparation while I worked at Joyce & Associates, but I always made myself available as much as possible. If clients expressed a desire to speak to me directly, that was always an option. At the firm I worked at at the time, Joyce & Associates, clients contracted with the firm and did not work exclusively with one attorney. The author of the review does not indicate how long they worked with my office, so it is impossible to judge whether three vacations would be unreasonable during that time frame. As most Immigration Court cases are pending for years, it seems likely that three vacations would be reasonable. In any event, I did not have the option to take a lot of vacation, but when I did go on vacation, it was necessary to involve other associates as per the terms of the firm's representation in order to keep cases on track and represent the clients best interests. Client communication has always been a priority for me, and I strive to ensure the my clients have ready access to information about their case as well as to answer questions regarding their process as quickly as possible.
