We hired Robert Crabtree upon a recommendation of another family who had worked with him on an educational placement issue for their child. We needed representation, guidance, and advocacy with regards to the educational needs of our son with autism. Bob is one of the most well known, well r...espected, and experienced lawyers in the field of educational law, and now having worked with him, I understand why. When we first contacted his firm, his assistant was very helpful and informative about how to proceed. We were able to meet with him in a short time frame. He gave us excellent guidance about what professional to to engage to assess our son and identify realistic goals for him. He was realistic about the process, preparing us for the many roadblocks we would encounter, but also gave us the encouragment to endure the process. He always responded to our many questions promptly and kept us apprised about developments as they happened. He kept us fully in the loop and understanding what we needed to do. Because of his vigilance and expertise, we were able to avoid litigation, reach an agreement with the school system, and secure a place for our son in an appropriate educational setting with the right services and supports. I know that if we had not found him, we would probably still be in the middle of this process and losing precious time. I can say with confidence that the change in our quality of life has been dramatic since our son is in an appropriate setting. We are seeing the improvements in his functioning pervade every aspect of his life. This has restored our hope in the future of our family. Our family's relationship with Bob has spanned a decade with both of our children. His knowledge and common sense approach to complex issues that are neither black nor white is most refreshing and welcome. Bob Crabtree is an excellent lawyer and represented my sons on several ocassions in regards to special education. He is thoroughly knowledgable about C.766 and keeps up-to-date on all hearings - knowing what has worked and what has proven unsuccessful. This has been extremely useful in our cases beca...use, as I've learned, it not always about what the law says once you go to hearing. He develops and works as a cohesive team with my sons providers and recommended several providers that were also excellent. He took a leadership role among all the providers to make sure my sons had the best representation for our cases. We have used Bob several times and he was always successful in getting us the services we needed but I think Bob would also be straightforward if he did not think your case was going to be successful.
