A truly gifted attorney

A most excellent family law attorney, and believe me, I know the difference. Having worked with lawyers for most of my employment history, Andrew stands out as one of the best. He showed a real interest, not only in my case, but in how it was affecting me and my children. My kids took a real likin...g to him and he always treated all of us with respect. His wealth of legal knowledge and skill meant there was never an unnecessary or overinflated charge, all filings and necessary actions taken care of in a timely manner. He always returned my calls promptly, and I never felt rushed, or as if what I had to say wasn't important. He has a strong courtroom presence, and I truly felt he had our best interests at heart throughout. Going through a divorce, you don't give trust easily, so for me to feel I could trust him speaks volumes not just to his skills, but his character. I would highly recommend him for anyone, male or female, who is looking for someone knowledgeable and caring to tend to their most personal family issues.

Complicated or contentious divorce stay away

I hired Andrew in 2015 to handle my divorce. When I hired him I explained that my case was highly contentious and complicated and I asked him if he could handle such a case because he did not have much experience at the time and he assured me that he was the right person for the case. That was one of... the biggest mistakes I have made in my life. Andrew could not have done a worse job. I paid him over $100,000 to represent me and my case turned into a circus show. My case went to trail and Instead of admitting that he was over his head he tried the case. I suggested that we get a more experienced Co-counsel which he was against. The results of my judgement was atrocious. I lost legal custody of my children, I was awarded 45% of the assets, and I was only given $600/week in alimony. He was completely intimidated by my ex-husband and his attorney. This was absolutely crazy!!! I gave up my career as a veterinarian to put my ex-husband through medical school, raised our children while he started his career and became very successful, I worked for my ex for free for 6 years and these were the results? The most disappointing thing was that Andrew thought that this was a good judgement. A year later I’m still in disbelief. In addition he was more intent on getting his retainer then working on getting a fair and equitable result. In the end of our relationship he would only communicate with me through email, he would not answer any of my calls and he was disinterested in trying to resolve any post divorce issues. He was more concerned what the judge thought about him then representing me as his client. Perhaps if you have a simple divorce he would be ok but if you have a divorce that has the least bit of animosity STAY AWAY!!! I have since hired a new attorney and she is MY advocate, she is realistic but is working for me, something I did not feel that Andrew did at all during my 4 year relationship with him. Divorce is such a hard thing to go through in the first place but when you have an attorney that is incompetent it becomes exponentially worse!!!

Hi Liz. I'm very sorry you feel this way and I know your divorce has been extremely difficult. However, you are ignoring the true underlying reasons why you lost legal custody of your children. I won't discuss those in this forum in order to maintain my ongoing obligation of confidentiality to you. However, if you would like to talk about that in my private I am always happy to do so. Additionally, in Massachusetts it is very rare for a parent without primary custody to not only NOT have to pay child support for their children but to then also be awarded alimony. You're right, I absolutely required our communication to be in writing toward the end of our relationship because you repeatedly said inappropriate things to me on the phone. I represented you in your divorce for over four years (with co-counsel) and you are now on your fourth divorce attorney. There is no divorce attorney in the world that can change the facts of the case. I sincerely wish you peace and happiness going forward, hopefully, eventually, without the need for never-ending litigation.
