Timothy M. Cornell

Based on my experience, Attorney Timothy Cornell CANNOT be trusted with serious legal matters. I found him evasive, manipulative, and dishonest during negotiations making written commitments he did not honor, offering shifting and contradictory explanations, and becoming hostile when challenged. His ...conduct struck me as calculated and deeply unethical. Prospective clients should exercise extreme caution before entrusting him with their legal affairs.

My experience with Attorney Cornell was extremely appalling and I would advise everyone against hiring him. I would never recommend him and anyone considering entrusting him with a legal matter should exercise extreme caution. This was not simply a situation where I disliked the outcome of a case or... disagreed with an attorney’s strategy. My concerns are about Attorney Cornell’s own conduct: his communications, representations to me, reliability, professionalism, and what I personally witnessed during the representation. In my experience, I was given information and assurances that I came to believe were misleading or simply untrue. Most disturbingly, Attorney Cornell eventually stopped communicating with me while he was supposed to be representing my interests. I was left dealing with the consequences and ultimately had to retain independent counsel to protect my interests and address Attorney Cornell’s conduct, including a potential malpractice claim arising from his representation. In my experience, his conduct was deceptive, grossly unprofessional, and completely unacceptable for an attorney entrusted with a client’s legal interests. After I retained independent counsel, Attorney Cornell became evasive and made representations that I believed were misleading and inconsistent with the facts. Rather than addressing the serious concerns regarding his representation directly and transparently, his communications were marked by deflection and, on multiple occasions, profanity toward my new counsel. This conduct only reinforced my concerns about his credibility, judgment, and professionalism. I also developed serious concerns about misrepresentations concerning his actual capacity to continue practicing LAW and competently handling any matter. I strongly encourage prospective clients not to take such representations at face value. Verify for yourself his current status, availability, ability to personally handle your case, and who will actually be responsible for your matter before paying or signing anything. Based on my experience, Cornell was incapable of providing the competent, reliable and responsive representation I had been led to expect. His behavior was so shocking that I ultimately believed I could no longer safely rely on him to protect my interests. What makes this experience particularly unacceptable to me is that clients hire attorneys precisely because they need someone they can trust during consequential situations. Being abandoned without any communication by the person you retained to protect your interests is an experience I would not wish on another client. I am publicly bringing this to everyone’s attention now because I believe prospective clients deserve to know about my experience before deciding whether to place their money, trust, and potentially their legal rights in this attorney’s hands. My advice to prospective clients is simple: do your due diligence before retaining any Attorney but do not hire Cornell, you are better off representing yourself and that’s putting it lightly. Get important representations in writing. Verify what you are told independently. Keep copies of every communication and payment. And seriously consider speaking with another attorney before entrusting an important legal matter to him. Had I known before retaining Attorney Cornell what I know today, I would never have hired him. DO NOT make the same mistake I DID!!

I have hired and worked as a paralegal for many lawyers throughout my career. Mr Cornell is one of the few I have trusted with my life. His work ethic and demeanor are exemplary and you can rarely say that about many in this arena. He has stuck with our case despite the many challenges and obstacles ...we have encountered. At this point, there is no one else I would trust with our case, but Mr Cornell. His background in journalism also helps not only in dealing with the many aspects of a case but in writing his complaints, briefs or any legal documents. I would recommend him highly.
