Michael Scott Batson

Michael S. Batson is a shareholder of Hermes, Netburn, O'Connor & Spearing, P.C. He concentrates his practice in the areas of general, civil and commercial litigation, construction law, insurance coverage and defense, environmental law, complex tort and product liability law. He handles matters in all Massachusetts’ state and federal trial and appellate courts, including the Massachusetts Business Litigation Session.

Mr. Batson has extensive experience representing clients in connection with claims for coverage on general liability, property, professional liability, directors and officers liability, umbrella and excess policies, and fidelity and surety bonds. He also represents owners, general contractors and subcontractors in construction-related litigation, including breach of contract claims, defective workmanship, personal injury and wrongful death.

In addition to his insurance and construction practice, Mr. Batson has represented clients in defense of class actions. He has also represented clients in connection with a variety of other matters, including defamation claims, non-construction-related breach of contract claims, stockholder disputes, fraud claims, building leaks and violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
