Mary H. Schmidt

I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with this law firm and the estate trustee Mary Schmidt. Her refusal to communicate with beneficiaries I believe violates her fiduciary duties to be transparent Beneficiaries have the right to: • Receive information about the estate • See financial records... • Receive a formal accounting of money in and out of the estate. She refused to allow dialog and did not engage in responsive communications. Her dismissive and disrespectful attitude was perplexing and I cannot recommend her or this firm for hire with estate matters. She also felt the need to hire an accounting firm to answer a simple inherited IRA question. The manner in which she spent the trusts money gave the impression that it was this tree of wealth that she could just pluck from at will without accountability or oversight. Highly frustrating and dissatisfying.

As a lawyer, with over 30 years of experience, I've come to know what a good lawyer looks like and I can tell you it includes the likes of Mary Schmidt and her team. Every once and awhile, a lawyer needs his or her own lawyer to represent them. When I needed a lawyer for a tricky probate litigation... matter, there was no question but to seek advice and counsel from Mary Schmidt and her team. She is smart; capable and available, not to mention, extraordinarily hard working and good judgment and common sense. It was a bonus that both the Judge and clerks of the court knew and respected her. I recommend her without reservation.
