I work with the clients to reach an equitable divorce, pursuing a strategy which will cause the least emotional and financial pain to my client and his or her family. My firm is very experienced at what we do and together we are able to achieve our client's desired results, with clear communication and compassion.
Beyond my legal career, I also enjoy sailing when the weather permits (and sometimes when it does not). I passed the Captain's License Exam in March 2015, and look forward to a continuing my lifelong passion of sailing in a new capacity.

My personal experience with Attorney Sweeney's office was excellent. From the beginning of the litigation to my case all the way through to the end after my trial, I was very satisfied with my results. The judgment order had mostly everything I wanted. My case is with a narcissistic co-parent that in...

My experience with attorney Sweeney was disappointing. Communication was extremely difficult, as he has no dedicated email address or direct phone contact. Reaching him directly was nearly impossible. Beyond that, there was a clear lack of effort and guidance on my case. As someone unfamiliar with ...

Extremely disorganized. Paul's paralegal is the reason he isn't completely inept. Paul can't read his own writing when hand drafts in changes at the court on temporary orders, four ways, and draft settlements. Very unprofessional about not discussing cases in advance, debriefing cases afterwards, ...

Paul did the first part of my divorce. He did not prepare me at all for the first hearing we had together. This would have been useful since that is when we arrived at a settlement and when we could have negotiated more effectively. First, my husband had not filed taxes for a few years, I had inde...

"I endorse this lawyer. We worked well together on opposite sides and were able to resolve the issues fairly and in an expeditious manner."
"John Sweeney is exactly what an attorney is supposed to be - that is to say - an outstanding advocate for his client's emotional, financial and legal best interests. I endorse Paul with reservation. WM"
"I endorse Paul J. Sweeney. I have seen many lawyers interact with clients, but no one shows as much compassion and intellect as Paul. Paul works with clients to set up goals, fully explain the divorce process and help them move on with their lives. He is the reason I go to work everyday, because he is a boss who cares about people. A rare find for a boss and an essential character trait for a divorce attorney."
"I endorse this lawyer. I have had the pleasure off knowing Paul Sweeney since 1981. From our law school days through his tenure as an Assistant Register of Probate in the Norfolk County Probate and Family Court, Attorney Sweeney is one of the few I would conference with to make sure I was representing my clients to the best of my ability. His knowledge of the law is a credit to our profession. It is my pleasure to endorse Attorney Sweeney as one of the best practitioners in the legal community."
"I endorse this lawyer. Attorney Sweeney is an excellent attorney and one whom I have worked with and would recommend highly to anyone seeking a strong zealous advocate. He is a credit to his profession."
