Johanna is the founder and managing partner of the Law Offices of Johanna Herrero. Johanna was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and immigrated to the United States at a very young age. Her dedication and passion for this field was born out of personal experience with the Immigration process.

Over the years, Johanna has gained extensive knowlege of the Immigration Laws through trial work and immigration court experience. Johanna represents many of the firm's clients in hearings defensively before the Executive Office for Immigration Review.

She practices regularly at the Boston Immigration Court, and manages the firm's extensive caseload before the Immigration Court, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the Department of Homeland Security.

Johanna provides expertise related to the immigration consequences of criminal convictions and deals with complex criminal cases on a daily basis. Through her strong advocacy skills, Johanna offers unmatched trial representation.

Johanna also handles the firm's large detained docket and complex cases involving mandatory detention and bond matters. Johanna visits ICE Detention Centers and provides legal advice to detained individuals.

In addition, she manages the firm's U and VAWA cases, for victims of domestic violence.

She actively provides pro bono representation for indigent clients and combines efforts with Boston-based pro bono organizations for representation.

La mejor
Ir a la oficina de la abogada Johanna Herrero es lo mejor que alguien que necesite a una abogado de inmigracion puede hacer. Ellos lo tratan a uno como familia, y la Abogada Herrero es un angel. Ella de verdad se preocupa por los problemas de la gente y hace todo lo posible por resolver. Todo el personal se miran como que estan felices de trabajar alli y lo hacen sentir a uno feliz tambien. Ademas ella le informa a uno de como estan las cosas; y habla con claridad, y cuando uno llama siempre atienden con amabilidad. La abogada Johanna Herrero se siente como si fuera familia de uno. Yo la recomiendo mucho, ademas habla bien español, ingles y portugues. Ella es mi abogada y he llevado a todos mis amigos que hqn necesitado una abogada de inmigracion y tambien estan contentos;

Poor service
DO NOT USED THIS LAWYER! THIS LAW OFFICE HAS A LOT OF CLIENTS AND NO TIME FOR THOSE CLIENTS. THE STAFF ARE RUDE AND GIVE CONFLICTING INFORMATION/ MISINFORMATION. I APPLIED TWICE (AND PAID TWICE) TO APPLY FOR MY GREENCARD TOO EARLY BEFORE MY DATE AND THEY LIED ABOUT MAKING A MISTAKE. I LOST THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. AS SOON AS I GOT A NEW LAWYER MY PROCESS WAS FAR EASIER AND I GOT MY GREENCARD.

I ran out of that office.
This law office offered free consultation, this attracted me to make an appointment. I had made an appointment with Johanna herself 2 weeks in advance, when I got there she was out of the state and after taking a day off and a train to Boston I decided to see another attorney. I still had to wait 1 hr. in waiting room full of people with no appointments. I started explaining my case but she took the folder I brought in from my hands and stopped me from speaking. she proceeded to tell me what my case was and that my case was so complicates to resolve that it would take years and a lot of money to resolve almost assuring me solving my case was going to be a miracle. After 2 min she sent me to the finance girl who gave me a sticky note with how much money I needed to pay to retain and start process about 2k. not even a breakdown saying these are the steps and this is how much you have to pay for each step & related fees. I still had questions and the finance office girl had to pull the attorney into her office so I can get clarification on what the process was. I felt I was at the DMW, come in- get out! That place was so disorganized and overwhelming it was insane, I even saw the receptionist ignoring calls. Luckily, I had done some online research before appointment and knew my case was not as trivial as she wanted me to believe. They do these scare tactics to make up pay fast, so you are hooked with them. I consulted with a 2nd attorney who said your case is a 123 step process. This attorney actually gave me the same answer I saw online plenty of times from successful cases. after the consultation with 2nd attorney she said she would email me with a detail of our meeting. she sent me a step by step guide of how i was going to obtain my GC , how much I was going to pay for each stage and the USCIS fees related to each step. I was expected to pay about 12k total with this law office not sure what that was going towards. new layer charged me 5k total and I know exactly when that has to get paid based on the movement of my case.

Hello Susan, After reading your comment I looked through our database in an effort to identify you and the notes regarding your consult. Unfortunately, I was unable to find you based solely on your first name. Your comment was genuinely concerning to me, because I believe I speak for anyone in my profession when I state that I practice law to assist my clients and my overall goal is to achieve the legality that my clients seek. If you were seen by any other Attorney in my office that did not properly assist you or offer you solutions, I would greatly apologize to you and open my doors to discuss those details with you further as I have built my firm on assisting the immigration community, honestly and efficiently. You defined my office as a "dmv" and I found that quite offensive as I attempt to open my doors to whomever needs my services and try to accommodate to their needs by offering reasonable fees for legal services. As you very well mentioned, few Attorneys offer free consultations. You then mentioned that we quoted you $12,000 to obtain your residency, which is simply untrue as my office has never quoted anyone that exorbitant fee unless it is a complex criminal matter or a federal appeal, which does not align with the described facts in your comments. Nevertheless, I am very glad that you were able to obtain your residency and I truly hope that we can discuss this matter further as I take my business, my firm and my reputation as an Attorney very seriously and this comment was immensely concerning. Thank you for your time and I welcome any further communication via email -->[email protected] or 617-800-9130.

Not professional
Do not waste your time or money here!! Unprofessional. Horrible attitudes. It takes so long to get through to them! They have too many clients and are unable to focus on each case with the attention required! It is the cheapest but you're better off paying more to get it done right!
