I had an initial consultation regarding a potential employment discrimination matter involving disability-related accommodation issues and am providing feedback based on my experience of the consultation. The consultation felt fragmented and not fully engaged in terms of how information was discus...sed and incorporated. I prepared a detailed written timeline with supporting documentation, including photos and timestamps, and referenced it during the consultation. It was not requested or reviewed during the discussion. During the consultation, I experienced interruptions while providing context. The discussion at times focused narrowly on specific examples rather than the broader timeline and pattern I was attempting to present, and key contextual details did not appear to be fully incorporated into the overall assessment during the call. With respect to accommodations discussed, one example provided by my doctors was described as unnecessary in my situation. A comparison was made to hearing-related accommodations, despite no hearing impairment being involved. The attorney laughed during this exchange in the context of discussing disability-related limitations. At the conclusion of the consultation, the attorney stated he did not believe the matter presented a viable legal claim and declined representation. Overall, based on my experience, I would have expected a more structured review of the information and documentation provided during the consultation.
