Lauren Anne Koster

Ms. Koster is principal attorney at Nonprofits Counsel. Nonprofits Counsel is a boutique law firm serving not-for-profit organizations in Massachusetts and Connecticut. Our mission is to be a true partner to our clients by providing proactive and collaborative legal services at all stages of an organization’s life cycle, from start up through sunset. 

We have extensive experience working with a wide range of tax-exempt organizations, including 501(c)(3) public charities, 501(c)(3) private foundations, and 501(c)(4) social welfare organizations, and provide services to our clients on an ongoing or project-based basis. Ms. Koster brings years of legal experience, including clerkships at the United District Court for the District of New Hampshire and the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, and a Skadden Fellowship in juvenile rights, including education issues. Prior to her legal career, she was a public school teacher and policy advocate in Connecticut, and has worked with several nonprofit entities throughout her career.

She is an alumna of Yale College and a first-generation four-year college graduate. She received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Boston College Law School. She is admitted to practice in Connecticut and Massachusetts and is also a member of the bars of the United States District Courts for the Districts of New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
