Donald R. Grady Jr

Donald R. Grady, Jr. is an experienced trial attorney and litigator practicing before the Courts of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the Courts of the State of New York. He has represented injured parties in many areas of law, brain injury, construction site accidents, workplace accidents, medical malpractice, products liability, railroad injuries, and general negligence cases. In addition to his twenty years experience in personal injury matters, Attorney Grady has litigated cases involving contractual disputes, real estate matters, construction disputes, and other business law litigation. Attorney Grady has spoken extensively before various groups, including lawyers, law students, and business professionals. He has lectured on the topics of trial technique, trial practice, civil practice, and corporate liability. Donald Grady is a member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ) and the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys (MATA), and is involved in other legal groups dedicated towards the zealous representation of tort litigation.

Certified by the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School, Donald (Don) Grady has participated and has advocated in numerous mediations and arbitrations during his legal career. In his current position at CMCI and in his 42-year tenure as a civil trial lawyer, Don has participated in complex mediations and arbitrations. He has advocated in multiple mini-trials, Master hearings and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. As a trial lawyer, he served as chief litigation counsel and lead trial counsel in multiple high profile matters in the Greater Boston area. He has tried more than one hundred cases to verdict, including several multi-million-dollar verdicts. His trial experience includes general negligence claims, construction site claims, medical malpractice cases, auto/trucking cases, premises liability cases, abuse cases, Federal Employers’ Liability Act (Railroad) matters, Jones Act cases, Dram Shop cases and products liability actions.

Don’s trial and litigation experience also includes commercial construction claims, advertising claims, breach of contract claims, Multi-District Litigation matters, tortious interference with contract claims and professional liability claims. He has appeared in the District of Massachusetts (Federal) Courts and the Superior Courts of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He has also practiced in multiple New York State Supreme Courts and the Federal District Courts in the State of New York. He has been admitted pro hac vice in other jurisdictions, including New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Arizona. As a litigator and trial lawyer, Don has received multiple awards, including recognition as a Super Lawyer, a Lawyer of Distinction and Top Lawyer Award Recipient from the National Trial Lawyers Association.

Don has served in local and national bar associations, including multiple terms in Section Council in Civil Litigation and Judicial Administration in the Massachusetts Bar Association. He was a Governor for the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys and a speaker at the American Association for Justice. He has lectured to a wide variety of audiences, including practicing attorneys, paraprofessionals, in-house legal counsel, law students, undergraduates, and members of the public.
