Richard Campbell Devor Jr.

I saw Mr. Devor on August 5, 2014, to discuss an Unlawful Detainer that was filed against me. He briefly listened to my story and reviewed my case before arguing against me and insisting that he could not help me because I would not win my case. His disposition was helpful in that it taught me everyt...hing the opposing counsel would argue when I appeared in court, but Mr. Devor was incredibly rude! I told him that I had a legitimate Fair Housing complaint against the Landlord and he told me that I would have to jump over a few hurdles, namely, proving that I was disabled. Bear in mind that I had my service dog with me at the meeting, and he read the doctor's note describing my disability and familial status. I've also been disabled since 1993. He was in such a rush to dismiss me that he opened the door to his borrowed office and reiterated that I would not win my case. I left feeling deflated and embarrassed, but with a renewed since of determination to beat this illegitimate charge and prove Mr. Devor wrong. FYI, I not only got the Landlord's attorney to dismiss my case (no thanks to Devor), but I'm now in the early stages of an HUD investigation into my Fair Housing claims. It turns out, I DO have a substantial FH case and I hope that Devor's horrible attitude will teach him not to disregard someone in desperate need of affordable legal services. If he had chosen to represent me, not only would he have won this case, but he could have aided in my latest Fair Housing lawsuit. I'm anticipating a hefty settlement.
