Cornelius Joseph Madera III

I have extensive trial experience in criminal defense as well as administrative/governmental agency matters and appeals. I previously served as an Assistant District Attorney for the Cape and Islands District, prosecuting both adult and juvenile matters, while serving as primary trial prosecutor of all juvenile jury cases. Since 2005, I have zealosuly represented clients in all areas of criminal defense across Massachusetts, ranging from all forms of violent and non-violent felonies and misdemeanors, including sexual assaults, homicides, white collar crimes, drug offenses and operating under the influence charges.

I specialize in a wide range of administrative/government agency appeals, including, matters with the Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV), Department of Children and Families (DCF), Sex Offender Registry Board (SORB), Massachusetts Parole Board and the Division of Insurance. Through my appellate work with RMV matters, I have obtained numerous successful results in license suspension appeals and hardship license requests to the Board of Appeal on Liability Policies and Bonds, the Massachusetts Superior Court, and at the appellate court level. I also regularly handle matters in the Juvenile Court, including criminal delinquency matters and Care and Protection and Truancy petitions. Further, since my work as part of the Northeastern University School of Law Prisoners’ Rights Clinic, I have continued to represent clients in life parole and parole violations hearings in front of the Massachusetts Parole Board.
