Laura E. Gillis

Laura Gillis, Esq., graduated cum laude from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and cum laude from the New England School of Law.  She is the principal attorney at Gillis Law, LLC. representing students with disabilities and their parents in educational matters.  Attorney Gillis provides IEP review and feedback, attends TEAM meetings, negotiates out of district placements and changes of placement, addresses discipline issues, and represents parents at all stages of mediation and the administrative hearing process.  As a mother of four children, it was through personal experience with her own children that Attorney Gillis found her calling in education law.  Her goal is to provide parents with information so that they can help their children with special needs make the most of their education and to do so in a compassionate and understanding way.

Attorney Gillis is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, Women’s Bar Association, Coalition of Parent Attorneys and Advocates and the Special Needs Advocacy Network.  She speaks locally and nationally on Special Education Law Topics and is co-chair of the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Juvenile & Child Welfare Section’s Special Education Law Practice Group
