Awful experience

1. Lazy While other lawyers have assistants and do all the legwork, Attorney Schwartz makes you get all medical reports snd necessary documents. 2. Disorganized I had my insurance company send medical records. His office signed for them and then he lost them. 3. Unprepared The day before we ...were supposed to go to trial ge contacts me first paperwork “extremely important to winning case”. He did not prepare in advance and forgot to tell me that I needed a doctor’s note about my disability. 4. Refused to do job My disability checks weren’t coming. He told me to deal with the insurance company myself even though he had already told me not to contact them- he would be the contact for all matters. 5. Don’t sign He pressures you to sign on your first visit. Then you find out other lawyers do the work, but you can’t get out if the deal. Even when you fire him, get gets 10% of any settlement by law. Do your your homework and get a lawyer in a firm with office support, strong work ethic and organization.

Poor preparation and performance

I am filing a report with Mass Bar due to Richard’s poor performance. Recently, I did not receive my Workman comp check. Richard told me to deal with it myself even though I am not supposed to have contact with the insurer. He makes you get all medical records while others attorneys have secretari...es that do this for you. He lost papers several times including documents that his office signed for upon delivery. He was unprepared for court- gave my wrong age, inaccurate information and didn’t present critical information resulting in me getting only partial benefits. He had my case back to back with another case - which he also lost- so he only had to drive to Boston once. He shared confidential information with opposing counsel ( I had gone on a cruise for my father’s 90th birthday) which was then used against me in court. He forgot to file 2 claims together so we needed to postpone the first hearing by months leaving me with no income from the job. The judge told him in September to join a claim for a fractured wrist- it is now August of the following year and has not been done. Definitely do not use this attorney.

Only good things to say about Richard.

He handled my worker's compensation case quite a few years ago. I found him to be very efficient, and a respectful gentleman. I worked for the Government and never knew there was a pension disability I was entitled to. If it weren't for him I don't know where I would be now. I was so content with my... settlement. I would and have recommended him to a lot of people.

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community

"As an attorney specializing in Consumer Bankruptcy and interviewing new clients most every day, it's not unusual for me to learn that in addition to financial problems, my client has had a work related injury. Worker's Compensation, like Bankruptcy, is a specialized area of the law and therefore it's crucial for me to insure that in such cases, the client has retained, or at the very least been advised, by a competent, Worker's Compensation Attorney. For close to 20 years, I have been referring my clients to Attorney Schwartz. In response, I have yet to hear anything back, but glowing reports from clients, who are more than satisfied with the way their case has been handled. The outcome of a worker's compensation claim can have a major impact upon an individual's financial survival. With so much at stake, it's comforting to know that I can confidently refer my client's to Attorney Schwartz, knowing that he will consistently provide them with exceptional care and expertise."
